PhD student Maggie Postolache started her rotation in the lab today. She is learning in vivo recording for her mini-project. Glad to have you in the lab, Maggie!


Despite a crippling snowstorm that closed the university, the Gokcumen and Xu-Friedman labs faced off over bowling pins at Transit Lanes. Omer himself outbowled everyone, but good humour was maintained by snacks.


Krista Perks, a postdoc with Nate Sawtell at Columbia, is visiting the lab to learn some tricks of the trade of slice electrophysiology. She arrives already extremely accomplished, but we hope to help her with her goals of recording from mormyrid ELL in slices.
